Enrol now!

Here is how to enrol.

Step 1:  Apply for a place

To apply for a place at the GAP, send an email to Spielwelt (spielwelt@homemail.com.au) with your child's name, date of birth, their level of German knowledge, and your contact details (phone and email).

Places are decided using our priority rules (listed further down).  The date you apply is a factor we consider, and the earlier you apply, the better.

Step 2:  Wait to hear if there is a place available

You should receive an email reply to your application within a few days (slightly longer in the term breaks and summer holidays).  In the unlikely event that you don't hear from us, please contact us again.

Once we can place your chlid in our class lists, we will send you an Offer of Place.

If there is no place available, or if you have applied for a future year, we will put you on the waiting list.

Being on our waiting lists is free.

Step 3:  Visit the GAP to see us in action

Whether we can offer you a place right away or not, it pays for you to be ready for when your Offer of Place arrives.  Please organise to come in and visit the GAP to see us in action.  We recommend you do this no more than 6 months in advance of when you would like your child to start.  See the "Considering Enrolling?" page under the Related Information links at the bottom of this page.

Step 4:  Send us your Enrolment Form

Once you receive your Offer of Place, email us right away to confirm you would like the place.

Then download our 2013 enrolment form (v3) which you can fill in on-screen, save and email back to us.

Step 5:  Pay your deposit to secure your place

A $100 non-refundable deposit is payable, to secure your place until you start. Your Offer of Place will outline the due date for this deposit.  You can find information on paying this by clicking on the "GAP Term Fees" link among the Related Information links at the bottom of this page.

Step 6:  Pay the rest of your fees

The "GAP Term Fees" link among the Related Information links at the bottom of this page will tell you all you need to know about paying your term fees (when, where, how and how much).

Step 7:  Activate your GAP membership at a Working Bee

Your Offer of Place will outline the dates for the working bees.  Families are expected to contribute 4 hours of work at a working bee, where cleaning, maintenance and construction is undertaken.

Step 8:  Arrive on your first day!

On your first day, please bring a copy of your child's immunisation, and be prepared to stay for a 20 minute orientation tour.  You'll be given a copy of your enrolment form to check and sign.

Here are our enrolment priority rules:

Priority 1:  Currently enrolled children are guaranteed a place until they leave.

Priority 2:  German speaking children.

Priority 3:  Siblings of currently enrolled children.

Priority 4:  Siblings of previously enrolled children.

Priority 5:  Children with best possibility for language support at home.

Priority 6:  Children with little possibility for language support at home.

Where children rank equally on the priority list, they are then ranked by the date they applied.  The commitee may exercise its discretion in applying the enrolment priority rules, and reserves the right to adjust them to take into account other factors.  These factors might include (but are not limited to) swapping priority 2 and 3; giving preference to families who are likely to be enrolled at the GAP longer; giving preference to a staff member's child; or giving preference to children attending 4-days a week.
